Concussion baseline testing for student athletes
Since the fall of 2005, the Penn High School athletic department has had a partnership with the Saint Joseph Sports Medicine Institute to provide baseline testing for student athletes. The pilot year for testing was 2008-2009 and then in 2010-2011 the Axon Sports Computerized Cognitive Assessment Tool (CCAT) was implemented. In 2011-2012 we expect to test 300-350 student athletes in the following sports: basketball, cheerleading, diving, football, pole vaulting, soccer and wrestling.
